Harrison and British singer Leo Sayer (first at the right). It was
taken during a F1 motor race at the Silverstone circuit in UK
(probably in 1986 or 1987). For the anecdote, Jeff Lynne and Leo Sayer
both featured on the movie soundtrack of "All This And World War 2" in 1976.

This box set was issued in 2000 but was sold out until now.

5 albums right now.
That's what I disclosed recently on my website. I received a lot of
messages from incredulous people. So here is the whole story: this piece of news was given
to me by an autograph
hunter who asked me to promote his signed items on eBay in return. He met Jeff Lynne after a
dinner with British
comedian Jasper Carrott at the Madeo
restaurant
in Los Angeles on 07 October. He signed autographs for fans. Jeff
Lynnelaughed
and joked with the assistance. He
also said what great friends he was with Tom Petty and how sad he was
about Mike
Edwards death because he had been a nice guy.The
whole event was filmed by channel TMZ (but will probably never be
broadcast). The
collector David Keeler, who was also present at this evening,
confirmed this
declaration by Jeff Lynne (see the article below about David Keeler).
In my opinion, the 5 albums could be his own solo album, a
collaboration (Joe Walsh...), a remastered album ("Zoom, "Armchair
Theatre"...), a live recording ("Zoom Tour Live"...), a reissue with
bonus tracks (original double album "Secret Messages"...). There are a
lot of possibilities... Jeff Lynne est en train
de travailler sur 5 albums
actuellement.

An ELO convention took place near Frankfurt, Germany on 02
and 03 October. Here
are some photos taken by Guillaume Blain, a French fan. About
75 people were present at the event. Posters, postcards, DVDs, CDs and
vinyls were for sale. A video tribute was paid to the bass player
Kelly Groucutt and the cellist Mike Edwards. During this week-end, a
tombola, a concert and a dance party were held among other activities. Une convention d'ELO a eu lieu

Swedish channel SVT broadcast an interview of Bev Bevan in the show
"The Seventies". There he talks
about ELO and the Move. You will notice the
unseen video of "The Words Of Aaron" by the Move with Jeff Lynne in

version during the German TV show "Beat Club" in 1971.

recently found 2 vintage adverts published in the music press. One is
from 1976 for the "Electra" guitars and the other is from June
1977 for the "Gibson" strings. J'ai

Actor Tony
Curtis died aged 85 on 29 September. He introduced ELO
for their charity concert at the Wembley Arena in London in 1978. The
video is available on the DVD Out Of The Blue - Live At Wembley.

EDWARDS - FUNERAL
The funeral of ELO cellist Mike
Edwards was held in Totnes, Devon, on 22 september. ELO's "Roll Over
Beethoven" was played. His brother spoke
about his early days with ELO and how he had become uncomfortable with
the popularity. As a result he left the band in the middle of a US tour.
Les obsèques
du violoncelliste d'ELO Mike Edwards ont eu lieu à Totnes
dans

joué.
Son frêre a parlé de ses débuts avec
ELO et comment
il était devenu géné par la

résultat fût qu'il quitta le groupe au milieu
d'une

THE
DUCKWORTH LEWIS METHOD
Here is a poster of the Irish band The Duckworth Lewis Method. It's an
advertising shown in the record store HMV. At the top It's written "my
inspiration" then the first verse of "Mr. Blue Sky" by Electric Light
Orchestra. The group of Neil Hannon and Tomas Pugwash always claimed to
be huge fans of Jeff Lynne. Moreover, they used to play this song on
stage.

the musical "Xanadu" has been performed in Germany since 11 September at the Landestheater
Oberpfalz in Leuchtenberg. The Electric Light Orchestra songs
are sung in English...

ELO cello player died in a accident
on 03 September aged 62. He was killed after a hay bale rolled into the
path of his van.
There won't be any religious funeral because Mike edwards was converted
to buddhism in the 70's. However, a tribute ceremony will probably be
organised soon...

your average balaclava wearing cellist in a rock group. He was a
very good natured chap who mixed politeness and reserve
with wild and wacky stage performances. Even though he left the group
over 35 years ago I occasionally think about him on stage in his woolen
balaclava playing his cello solo with an orange. Now that was pretty
original. Mike was a great cellist but most of all a
real gentleman. The wild and strange middle bit in "Showdown"is
actually Mike Edwards double tracked over and over adding odd notes all

35 ans, je
pense parfois à lui sur scène avec sa cagoule en
laine
jouant son solo de violoncelle avec une
orange. C'était
très original à l'époque. Mike
était un grand violoncelliste mais avant
tout un vrai
gentleman.
L'étrange et sauvage pont dans "Showdown" est en fait Mike
Edwards doublé et ajoutant des notes à la tierce
tout le temps. J'adore ce passage".

Neil Nathan is an American singer and a Jeff Lynne fan. His new album "The Distant Calls" contains a
cover version of "Do Ya" by The Move/ELO. The song
already featured in his first EP "Songsmiths" in 2008 and
was used in an episode of "Californication" (watch here).

The
Apples In Stereo
are an American band openly influenced by Jeff Lynne. Frontman Robert
Schneider declared in an interview to "Magnet Magazine": "Jeff Lynne is
the awesome lead singer/producer of ELO. His futuristic
production vision was a great source of inspiration to our band in
making "Travellers In Space And Time"
and the
last album, "New Magnetic Wonder", as well.
Listening to ELO's
"Greatest Hits"
takes me back so vividly to being a little kid in the 70s and
early 80s, it gives me a flash of the feeling of childhood
that I
really miss. At the same time, it provides a great production model to
build on to send baroque pop music into the future. Also, I am super
into Idle Race, Jeff Lynne’s incredible 60s band
before he
joined The Move. Their album "The Birthday Party"
is a perfect psych-pop album, in heavy rotation around my house."

It's very sad
news. Mike Edwards died in an accident in
Devon (England) on 03 September. He was 62. He was the
cellist of Electric Light Orchestra
from 1972 to 1975. He
played on the ELO albums "ELO II", "On The Third Day", "The Night The
Light Went On (In Long Beach)" and "Eldorado". He had disappeared from
the show
business since to become a buddhist. More recently, he devoted himself
to medieval
and traditional music.

interviewed by John Hannam on the "Isle Of Wight" radio. He recalls his
career with The
Move, ELO, Black Sabbath... I deleted the songs except his solo single
"Let There Be Drums" produced by Jeff Lynne and performed by some ELO
former members in 1976.
